It is the national sport of many countries, including Brazil, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, United States, England, China, Pakistan and India.

There are two different codes of football that are internationally recognized; the English and the American football codes. Each code has a number of different governing bodies that control the conduct of football competitions and tournaments. Each authority usually appoints its own regulating authority or delegates.

The NFL is the governing body of football in the United States and is also the national league of football in Canada. The Canadian Football League boasts six teams which play across the country.
The English Football Association or the EFA was responsible for the development of the English National Football League or the English Premier League, one of the world’s leading football competitions. The EFA was formed in 2021 and is governed by a strict code of conduct. It is one of the richest and most powerful associations of football in the world with a board made up of one hundred and eighty members consisting of representatives from the four nations that make up the Football Association. The EFA organizes tournaments which are the common basis for the qualification of teams for the World Cup tournaments. Its policy of maintaining teams playing against other teams belonging to the same association and level of play permits the possibility of domestic and international competitions between English based clubs and foreign teams.
The word football in the English language is derived from the word field, which is derived from the Latin word, “fusci”, which means a field. A ball then is the object of desire for the sport of football. The rules of the game of football include the involvement of the ball which is round and of a fixed size, whose movement can be controlled by the use of an arm, legs or any other part of the body. Today, football is not just a game of field goal celebrations but also involves technological advancements in the field of ball manipulation and its various applications.
